Calm places, memory and light
Simon Robin Stephens paints familiar local places as calm, reflective spaces to breathe. Based in Sutton, South London, his watercolours often begin with landscapes, streets and landmarks in Carshalton, Surrey and beyond.
Shaped by his own search for sanctuary through art, the work explores memory, light and the comfort of places that help people slow down. His paintings celebrate quiet beauty in everyday locations: paths, ponds, buildings, trees, flowers and open skies that hold emotional breathing space.

Simon Robin Stephens is a South London watercolour artist based in Sutton. He paints the landscapes, streets and landmarks of Carshalton, Surrey and beyond, transforming familiar places into moments of calm and reflection. Shaped by his own search for sanctuary through art, his work explores memory, light and the comfort of places that help us slow down and breathe. Simon exhibits throughout Surrey and South London, teaches watercolour workshops, and is building a growing collection of paintings that celebrate the quiet beauty of everyday places.
