The Quiet Before the Celebration

In just a few weeks, Carshalton Park will hum with life. The Carshalton Eco Fair 2025 will spill across the lawns — music drifting through the trees, stalls brimming with handmade treasures, and neighbours pausing to chat in the summer sun. Right now though, the park is still. Golden light spills across the grass, dogs weave in and out of shadow, and the winding footpaths feel almost secret. This painting captures the pause before the gathering — that breath of calm before celebration.

Why This Scene Matters

I've walked Carshalton Park in every season — from frost-tipped mornings to blossom-filled springs — but late summer here always feels different. It's a season of anticipation. The Eco Fair is more than an event; it's a celebration of community, sustainability, and place. By painting it now, I wanted to create something lasting — a way for you to hold onto the feeling of a South London summer, long after the bunting comes down.
