Oaks Park Cafe Art Exhibition Near Banstead: Local Art, Coffee and Community
June 29, 2026 - 3 min read

I am very pleased to be taking part in the Oaks Park Cafe Art Exhibition near Banstead in Surrey, presented by Carshalton & Wallington Art Group.
The exhibition takes place over one weekend at Oaks Park Cafe, Croydon Lane, Banstead, Surrey SM7 3BA. It is open on Saturday 25 July 2026 from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday 26 July 2026 from 10am to 4pm. Entry is free.
This feels like a lovely setting for local art. Oaks Park has that gentle mixture of green space, walking, coffee, and community that makes people slow down. It is close to Banstead, but also within easy reach of Sutton, Carshalton, Wallington, and the wider South London area, so it has a natural local audience for work inspired by familiar places.
What visitors can expect
Visitors can enjoy a coffee, explore the exhibition, and meet local artists in the peaceful surroundings of Oaks Park.
The exhibition will include original artwork, prints, and handmade gifts from local artists. I will be showing work as Simon Robin Stephens Art, with watercolour paintings connected to the places, colour, light, and quiet moments that shape my practice.
As a Carshalton, Sutton, and South London watercolour artist, I am always interested in how local places hold memory. A park, a pond, a cafe, a familiar walk, or a building seen in evening light can all become part of a painting. Oaks Park belongs very naturally in that world.
Why Oaks Park matters
Oaks Park is the kind of place people visit for many reasons: a walk, a pause, a coffee, time with family, or simply a bit of fresh air. That makes it a good home for an exhibition that people can come across gently, without feeling they have to step into a formal gallery.
For anyone looking for local art near Banstead, Sutton, Wallington, or Carshalton, the exhibition is a chance to see artwork in person, talk to artists, and find pieces that feel connected to the area.
What I am showing
I will be bringing watercolour work rooted in local landscape, stillness, reflection, and colour. Some pieces connect with my Surrey Sanctuaries collection, which includes places of calm across Surrey and nearby South London, including Oaks Park itself.
There may be original paintings, prints, cards, and smaller gift pieces available during the weekend. Availability can change, so if there is a particular piece you have seen online, please contact me before visiting and I can let you know what is coming with me.
You can preview related work online in the Surrey Sanctuaries collection, the Carshalton collection, and the main gallery.

If you are interested in a specific painting, print size, or card design, you are very welcome to contact me before the event.
Is this a good event for finding a local gift?
Yes. This should be a good weekend for anyone looking for local art, prints, cards, or thoughtful handmade gifts connected to Banstead, Sutton, Carshalton, Wallington, and the surrounding Surrey and South London area.
Artwork can make a meaningful local gift because it carries a sense of place. A print or card of somewhere familiar often feels more personal than something generic.
Can I preview the artwork online?
Yes. You can browse my full gallery online, including original watercolour paintings and related collections.
For local scenes and South London artwork, start with the Carshalton collection. For calmer landscape-led paintings, including work connected to Surrey green spaces, browse Surrey Sanctuaries. Prints and cards can also be explored through the prints and cards page.
